| 清代在中国古代封建社会中运用犯罪存留养亲制度最有成效。清统治者继承了明律的规定 ,在处理具体案件的过程中形成了一系列的例文和成案 ,逐渐放宽了对留养条件的限制 ,形成了从声请留养到枷责发落的一整套严格的程序 ,使此制得以有效而广泛地推行开来。 |

| Among various feudal dynasties in Chinese history，the qng Dynasty was the most successful one in the implementation of the system whereby commutation or suspension of penalties was granted to some convicted criminals so as to enable them to take care their old or sick parents.The Qing Cbvernment inherited from the Ming Code provisions relating to the system and，in the process of handling relevant cases，developed a series of established rules and judicial precedents.By gradually relaxing the restricdons on the granting of commutation of penalties，the qng Cbvernment developed a whole set of strict procedures ranging from the initial application to final granting of commutation of penalties，which enabled this system to be implemented effectively and widely throughout the country. |
