The period of Wei-Jin is an important developing stage of the Chinese Lv-Ling legal system. In the period, Chinese ancient law realized the distinction of Lv and Ling, which reflects the gradual maturity of all the related institutions in Qin-Han period. It is a result of the standardization and systematization of Han Dynasty's Lv and Ling, as well as a result of the combination of Confucianism and Legalism. The dynastic change also promotes the completion of the distinction of Lv and Ling. This distinction not only marks the formation of Chinese Lv-Ling legal system but also made Lv become the proper name of Chinese criminal law, thus bearing significance in the understanding of the characteristics of the Chinese legal family. |
